Senior Ethereum Software Engineer
🔎 About the job
Clovr Labs is recruiting an experienced Software Engineer to join our Ethereum Processing team.
Let's give you some context on who we're looking for and what to expect when you join the team.
👋 Who we are
We are a boutique consulting firm specialised in the fields of cybersecurity and lean product development. We strive for simple, elegant solutions for difficult problems and have a passion for making things unfold, one iteration at a time.
🎯 Our mission
Our team specialises in blockchain systems, mainly focusing, until now, on the Bitcoin L2 network. Ethereum technologies are the last addition to our portfolio.
🧩 Your Role in the Team
We seek curious individuals who are committed to their goals and passionate about engineering. As an experienced Software Engineer, you will help extend our current products and systems. You'll be the first developer of a dedicated team tasked with maintaining and enhancing our Ethereum processing system.
⭐️ Our Ideal Candidate
While no single qualification is essential, our ideal candidate would possess:
- Passion for refactoring and eagerness to work on an existing codebase. Ideally this book is your bible.
- Strong self-driven attitude and ability to work independently.
- Multi-year professional experience with Python. Added bonus for knowledge about the following libraries: bitcart, alembic, fastapi, redis.
- Solid understanding and interest in the Ethereum Blockchain technologies, with particular focus on payment solutions.
- Good command of RDBMS (PostgreSQL).
- Good command of standard algorithms and data structures.
- Familiarity with automated build pipelines and CI/CD concepts.
- Comfort working with containers and databases in both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Professional experience with Kubernetes.
- A passion for learning and a willingness to grow in a dynamic environment where requirements and priorities shift. We value results, and while our code is ephemeral, it's also well-engineered. We regularly dedicate time to reduce technical debt.
- The ability to write high-quality, maintainable code and follow best practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Humility and a team-oriented mindset, favouring the decisions of the team over individual preferences.
🔐 Key Roles
As the first, full-time developer of our Ethereum Processing team, you will:
- Maintain and enhance our Ethereum Processing system, with a strong focus on stability and security.
- Own the team backlog and steer it in coordination with the product stakeholders.
- Be encouraged to grow, with sufficient time and resources provided for learning new technologies and becoming a better developer.

Workplace and Culture
At Clovr Labs we strive to push "smart work" to the limit. Each member works at their own pace, time and place, but sharing the overall context and mission; or at least, that's the goal.
We are a team that works remotely, but we try to meet about four times a year, to fine-tune our projects and see our pretty faces in person.
Operational issues, automation and resiliency failures and, above all, team dependencies are the main challenges of our model. Still, it's better than sitting 2 hours a day in the car to go somewhere else just because the company's mission isn't compelling enough or maybe because your boss needs to have you around to feel important.

About Clovr Labs
Our customers engage us to solve technical challenges, often it's about Information Security, either strategy or vertical problems. No, we don't develop custom cryptography algos, we are not that smart.
On the other hand, when it comes to doing security in an agile environment, e2e encryption, or hammering secret sharding into whatever application we might have some ideas.
Same thing about deception tech and non linear defense in general. We know one thing or two about blockchain tech, as well as software development, in particular responsive apps. We got really strong opinion about awareness campaign, tabs vs spaces and zero trust.
We respect the cloud, but we got nostalgia for data centers. We definitely love infrastructure as code, process optimisation and automation. We love sniffing and mangling packets, a bit vintage, but still lovely. We also love OIDC, and python3.
We hate to waste time, ours and yours.
